Aurora adalah fenomena alam yang hanya muncul di langit belahan bumi utara. Saking uniknya, aurora yang indah sering disebut-sebut mulai dari mitologi Yunani sampai dongeng Indian. Di dunia ini, ada 5 tempat terbaik untuk melihat Aurora.

Cahaya utara ini juga dikenal sebagai "Aurora Borealis" atau fajar utara (Dawn of the North). Secara ilmiah, aurora terjadi saat medan magnet bumi bertabrakan dengan udara yang mengalir dari matahari. Gesekan itu menyebabkan perpindahan energi yang menghasilkan belahan bumi utara bersinar, tepatnya di sekitar kutub. Aurora memiliki kombinasi warna kuning, pink, merah, biru, ungu, hijau.

1. Alaska

Di Amerika Utara, salah satu tempat terbaik untuk menikmati cahaya indah ini adalah Alaska. Terletak 32 km dari Fairbanks, pegunungan Alaska menawarkan tempat yang indah dan memanjakan untuk menangkap Aurora Borealis.

Di sana terdapat beberapa penginapan dan losmen yang menawarkan jasa dan perlengkapan untuk melihat aurora. Anda bisa menaiki kereta salju yang ditarik oleh sekumpulan anjing husky atau berendam di kolam air panas sambil menonton aurora yang menari di langit malam.

Universitas Fairbanks Alaska menyediakan alat pemantauan Aurora Borealis dan kunjungan museum. Kunjungan ini merupakan salah satu cara untuk bisa mempelajari fakta dan mitos yang yang terjadi mengenai cahaya tersebut secara lebih dalam.

Waktu terbaik untuk mengunjungi Alaska adalah bulan Maret, dimana langit biasanya cerah pada saat itu. Dari Agustus sampai pertengahan April juga menjadi waktu yang tepat untuk menonton aurora.

2. Kanada

Kanada jadi satu dari tempat terbaik untuk menikmati cahaya ajaib dari utara tersebut. Ontario menawarkan tur khusus yang tidak terlupakan. Menjauh dari hingar bingar ibu kota, Anda akan diajak tenggelam dalam cahaya mistik di langit utara. Perjalananan selama sejam dengan mobil salju di daerah Danau Superior juga termasuk dalam daftar kegiatan tur di Ontario.

Yukon yang terdapat di paling barat Kanada merupakan tempat yang juga menyajikan pemandangan aurora, tepatnya di sekitar Danau Laberge. Anda bisa menyewa kabin kayu yang terletak di dekat danau. Kabin ini menawarkan pemandangan Aurora Borealis tanpa batas.

Agustus hingga akhir April adalah waktu yang tepat untuk mengunjungi tempat ini. Anda bisa memancing, menaiki kereta salju, ski, naik mobil salju dan berperahu dengan bingkai aurora di atas kepala Anda.

3. Finlandia

Saariselkae yang terletak di Lapland, bagian utara Finlandia adalah tempat yang tak kalah indah untuk menikmati aurora. Negara ini adalah negara dengan angka polusi yang kecil. Dengan keadaan ini, langit utara Finlandia bisa mempesona para turis dengan menyajikan aurora yang luar biasa selama sekitar 200 malam dalam setahun.

Selain menikmati aurora, Anda juga bisa menaiki kereta salju yang ditarik rusa, mengemudikan mobil salju atau menontoni kawanan anjing husky. Bulan-bulan terbaik mengunjungi Saariselkae adalah sekitar November sampai Maret. Khususnya pada saat udara bersahabat dan langit cukup bersih.

4. Norwegia

Norwegia menjadi tempat terbaik diantara tempat lainnya untuk melihat cahaya utara. Ada beberapa kota di Norwegia yang menawarkan pemandangan aurora, namun yang terbaik adalah Tromso. 

Tromso menyajikan festival yang ditujukan untuk menghormati dewa fajar. Pada saat fajar pertama menyentuh tanah Tromso, festival cahaya utara dimulai. Festival ini dirayakan di seluruh wilayah Tromso dan diisi dengan musik, makanan dan cemilan.

Tromso terletak di 571 km dari lingkaran Artik. Aurora Borealis bisa dilihat sekitar pukul 18.00 sore sampai pukul 1.00 malam setiap dua kali sehari. Cuaca memiliki peran penting dalam pertunjukan aurora, jadi sering-seringlah melihat perkiraan cuaca. 

Januari adalah bulan terbaik untuk berkunjung. Ingat, udara Tromso benar-benar dingin, pastikan Anda membawa persediaan baju dingin yang cukup.

5. Islandia

Islandia menawarkan pemandangan aurora yang spektakuler. Bertempat di dekat Kota Reykjavik, daerah ini menyediakan beberapa tur yang membawa Anda menjauh dari kota. Tur ini akan mengajak Anda menikmati alam perawan yang belum tersentuh polusi. Tempat ini tepat untuk menikmati cahaya aurora dengan intim.

Malam-malam cerah di Islandia terjadi di bulan September sampai Maret. Pada saat itulah Anda harus menjadwalkan perjalanan anda.

So, guys, sebelumnya kalian tau ngga, sih, siapa itu Martin Garrix? Martin Garrix (nama aslinya Martijn Garritsen) adalah Dutch DJ sekaligus produser asal Belanda yang menandatangani kontrak dengan Spinnin' Records.

Dan fyi, dia itu masih muda banget. Dia lahir di tanggal 14 Mei 1996!!! Walaupun masih berumur 18 tahun, dia udah memenangkan banyak penghargaan dan menjadi Top 04 DJ IN THE WORLD, GAESSS!!! Dan tentu aja dia udah bisa disejajarkan dengan beberapa DJ Internasional seperti Jay Hardway, Calvin Harris, Afrojack, David Guetta, Avicii, Tiesto, dan lain-lain. Semua itu juga ditunjang dengan wajah super duper cakep, suami gue (re: Harry Styles) aja kalah cakep! Hehe, tapi tetep lebih cinta Si Styles kok.

Ultra Music Festival

Ultra Music Festival (UMF) is an annual outdoor electronic music festival that occurs in March in the city of Miami, Florida, United States. The festival coincides with the annual Winter Music Conference, also held in Miami. In 2013 the two Ultra weekends were held on the weekends that began and ended WMC.

Ultra is held in Downtown Miami in Bayfront Park. It was a one-day festival from 1999 to 2006, a two-day festival from 2007 to 2010, and was a three-day festival in 2011 and 2012. In 2012, a record 155,000 people per day attended the festival. In 2013, for the first time in festival history, UMF took place across two consecutive weekends. In 2014, the festival returned to a one-weekend format, taking place on Friday, March 28 through Sunday March 30th. Presale Tickets went on sale online May 21, 2013 selling out in a matter of seconds; standard priced tickets sold out on the last day before the event. (sumber: en.wikipedia.org)

So, Ultra Music Festival was attended by international DJs such as Avicii, David Guetta, Showtek, Nervo, Martin Garrix, Afrojack, and many more.

Ultra Music Festival vs Tomorrowland

If house music is your thing then those 2 festivals are an absolute must for you. Every year, hundred of thousands gather from around the globe at Miami in may for the Ultra Music Festival and at Boom for Tomorrowland.

But which one can claim the title of Best EDM Festival?

Round 1: The DJs and Performers

In terms of DJs, you have pretty much the same line-up between those two. You’ll get your share of worldwide known DJs like Hardwell, Avicii or Tiesto. But here, Ultra has a little edge over Tomorrowland because they don’t stop at just DJs, they also invite other well known musicians such as Madonna or Snoop Dogg.

So the first round is going to Ultra for making the effort of providing a more diverse musical experience.

Round 2: The Set-up

One is in Miami (US), the other is in Boom (Belgium). At first sight, it would seem like a no brainer: why would you go to a city you’ve never heard of when you could party in Miami? But the thing with Tomorrowland is that the fact that it’s in the middle of nowhere allows them to create a whole unique universe around their festival.

So yes Miami is beautiful but it doesn’t have that magic feeling created by Tomorrowland. Going there is kind of like going to Disney World: you enter a totally universe and when it ends, everyday life feels unreal.

This round is going for Tomorrowland for the creativity and imagination they put into building brand new set-ups every year.

Round 3: The Ambiance

Those 2 festivals are melting pots of people of every possible country you can think about. It creates a unique vibe that you won’t find anywhere else.

But I’ll have to say that Tomorrowland brings a better sense of community because people are literally together 24h/24h. Tomorrowland hosts 35 000 people on their camping site: Dreamville, where you can bring your own tent or rent one on the spot.

At Ultra on the other hand, people are only with each other during the musical performances whereas Tomorrowland allows you to also meet people before and after the shows and actually talk and get to know them.

Once again I’ll give this round to Tomorrowland, mainly because of the fact that the festival doesn’t just stop after the performances: it’s a non-stop experience.

Round 4: The Fashion

Here it’s going to be a little more complicated to take a side. If you’re looking for a sexier and edgy style, Ultra clearly has an edge. People are usually dressed in a more provocative manner (let’s just say lots of glitter and body paint are involved). Also how could we not mention the famous bracelet trend we see every year at Ultra: the more the better!

But like i said in round 2: Tomorrowland creates a unique universe and it shows in the way people dress. You’ll see way more people dressing up in goofy outfits and even see groups with their own theme. When they’re not disguised, people usually dress in a more hippie fashion with bandanas, flowers and jeans shorts.

So in the end, I’ll have to say that this round is a tie because it’s entirely up to you to decide which one you prefer.

So in the end, i’ll have to say that personally i think that Tomorrowland is the best EDM festival but maybe i’m wrong so tell me what you think.
